Advanced Volleyball Rules
Adv. Intermediate Rules
1. Only 4 - 5 players on a team.
2. Open hand pushes are not allowed. You can however push with your hands together, tomahawk or your passing platform.
3. There are no open hand receives. All receptions must be met with closed hands, arms together or one handed.
4. Set overs/pushes are not allowed. Bump sets that go over are legal.
5. Teams made up of 5 players do not need to rotate positions but must maintain serving rotation. This will be up to the team with 5 players to decide and can not be changed mid-game. If you chose not to rotate positions you may not transition either.
6. A volleyball player can not make contact with the net during any time of the game.
7. A lift is when a player makes contact with the ball using an open palm or a passing platform that has the arms not touching (this does not include the over head receive which is legal) and the result is basically throwing the ball into play. Underhand contact with the ball should be with your forearm platform pass, single forearm pass and a closed palm pass. If your going to make the pass or touch on a shank ball make sure you use one of the methods stated. Any contact with arms not touching or open hands when passing underhand is illegal. One handed/arm touches are allowed with closed hands. Not making proper contact with the ball as stated your team loses the point.
8. Points system explained - Rally style scoring with the winner winning by 2 more points during the regular 7 week season. This means there is no CAP for the win. In the tournament/Playoffs games are caped if a win by 2 situation is not possible.
